Journal of the African Activist Association
Named after the Swahili word for comprehension, understanding or being, UFAHAMU is committed views about social issues, addressing both the general reader and the scholar.
Ufahamu is an interdisciplinary journal of African Studies. Since its establishment in 1970, UFAHAMU continues to challenge and correct misconceptions about Africa, thereby creating relevant criteria for African Studies.
It publishes material supportive of the African revolution and socially significant works of African history, politics, economics, sociology, anthropology, law, planning and development, literature and other topics about the continent and the African Diaspora.
Beginning with Volume 35 Issue 1 (Fall 2008), Ufahamu will no longer be available in paper form. Volume 35 and all future volumes of the journal will be available online in electronic form free of charge on the eScholarship Digital Library. Please do not send payment for Volume 35.
