Information:
Armstrong Atlantic State University is the host of the
41st annual meeting of the Southeast Conference of the Association
for Asian Studies (SEC/AAS) on January 17-19, 2003, at Jekyll
Island, GA. Proposals for panels on specific topics are
expressly solicited; panels devoted to the development of
teaching Asian subjects at the secondary or collegiate levels
are especially encouraged. Individual papers may be submitted
also. Only one paper per participant will be accepted.
Submission
Guidelines / Information:
SEC/AAS annual dues for 2002-2003 ($15 for individual
regular membership or $5.00 for students and precollegiate
teachers) are required for consideration of submissions.
Dues must be received by the SEC/AAS Treasurer, Professor
Charlotte Beahan, Department of History, 6-B Faculty Hall,
Murray State University, Murray, KY 42071-3341 by the October
1, 2002 deadline for submissions.
Please
complete the membership form (http://www.lib.duke.edu/reference/kenb/seccall.htm)
and make checks payable to SEC/AAS. If a submission is not
accepted, dues will be returned. Conference materials and
registration information will be sent only to those who
have paid the SEC/AAS annual membership dues. Reminder:
The $15 dues do NOT include registration fees for the conference
itself.
Acceptances
will be notified by October 15, 2002. On final typed copy
of accepted papers must be sent to the discussant(s), and
two copies and an abstract sent to the Panel Chair before
December 31, 2002.
