Event:
The
5th APRU Doctoral Students Conference will be hosted by University
of Sydney from August 9-13, 2004. The theme for this year's conference
is entitled "Research at Pacific Rim Universities: Economic,
Scientific and Cultural Perspectives - The Way Forward"
Designed
as an interdisciplinary gathering, the conference offers an
excellent opportunity for doctoral students to present their
research and exchange ideas with fellow students from APRU
universities in the various fields in science, technology,
business, economics, social sciences and the humanities.
A
new feature of this year's conference is a series of conference
workshop sessions conducted by faculty members of APRU universities.
The workshops organized along the theme of "Preparing
Future Faculty Members for Academic Leadership in the 21 Century" seek
to inform doctoral students on what they need to know to enter
the professorate at universities.
