UCLA Center for East Asian Studies UCLA is a world leader in research and teaching on East Asia. The UCLA Center for East Asian Studies website offers details about faculty, courses, programs, and events at UCLA as well as support for elementary and secondary school education and the general public.

The UCLA Center for East Asian Studies has been disolved and its core functions mergered in the new UCLA Asia Institute. The Center maintained an active website from 1997-2002. We are integrating the content of the EAS site into the Asia Institute site and will host the old site during that process.

The Asia Institute will promote Asian Studies at UCLA and to foster greater understanding of Asia through a wide variety of outreach activities including teacher training, curriculum development, public symposia, film series, and exhibitions.
