1844 The US and China signed the Treaty of Wangxia (Wangshia). It provided for American access to the Chinese market and most favored nation status.

1925 Wang Jingwei was named chair of the Chinese Nationalist Government's Military Affairs Committee, Jiang Kaishek was a member.
