1893 Sun Yatsen, future Chinese revolutionary and first president of the Chinese republic, graduated from the
College of Medicine in Hong Kong.

1921 The first meeting of the Chinese Communist Party was held in Shanghai, thirteen delegates represented fifty
members. Mao Zedong represented Hunan, Chen Duxiu, Zhou Fohai, Zhang Guotao also attend. Two Russian Communists attended.
